About

About the conference

Mongolia’s compliance teams are being asked to do more, faster, and with better evidence. This conference is a working session on how that is actually done.

The conference brings together compliance officers, MLROs, heads of KYC and CDD, risk managers and legal teams from across the Mongolian financial sector, alongside representatives from the country’s regulatory bodies.

The programme covers regulatory updates, practical approaches to customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence, and the operational reality of ongoing monitoring, screening and beneficial ownership research.

It closes with an introduction to BMSS, Forensic Lab Mongolia’s KYC and due diligence platform, which integrates the Orbis company database — a working example of how global data sources and locally built tooling can be combined to serve the Mongolian compliance ecosystem.

Topics

What we will cover

Four themes run through the keynotes and the panel discussion.

01

KYC and due diligence in emerging markets

How due diligence practice is evolving where data is thin, registries are incomplete and the standard playbooks do not quite fit.

02

Data, technology and the risk-based approach

Using data and tooling to make AML/CFT programmes effective rather than merely documented — and where automation genuinely helps.

03

Beneficial ownership and PEP screening

Global trends in ownership transparency, what regulators increasingly expect to see, and the practicalities of screening politically exposed persons.

04

Ongoing monitoring and adverse media

The hardest part of the lifecycle: keeping files current, tuning alerts that analysts can actually work, and handling adverse media at scale.
